I came to America with my wife and two small children 22 years ago. I worked as Chief Financial Officer and managed Financial Systems at several companies. I had the privilege and honor to serve as a member of the Executive team at a defense and aerospace manufacturing company. We produced key components for F-35, F-16, and SpaceX rockets, among other products. I was responsible for the financial system and upgraded it to a new, state of the art system. It fell on me to reorganize operations for compliance with newly enacted US Department of Defense data security regulations. We also successfully passed an audit of fair pricing for products delivered to the DOD. Being able to contribute to the US national defense is a source of pride to me, an immigrant, who started a new life here. Running for office and being elected is a way to contribute to the community I have been a member of. It is a public service matter to me.
  • My top priority is to ensure that the Office of the Treasurer/Tax Collector operates equitably and transparently, and that citizens receive the utmost level of service when they interact with the office, and to ensure to the best of my ability that big corporations in our County pay their fair share of taxes.
  • Restore data integrity and increase confidence in the accuracy of documents at the office of Treasurer-Tax Collector. A former Chief Information Officer responsible for computer system at both Assessor and Tax Collector Departments pleaded guilty to a felony. The man diverted public funds to his wife’s company. There is a need to thoroughly audit the computer system and make sure that the Department and its computer systems comply with the law.
  • I will implement a new computer system. Its increased accessibility will enable taxpayers and customers to interact with the Department’s personnel not only via phone but via web and mobile computing. There is a need to prevent untimely data delivery which, in turn, may lead to reduced tax collection or could cause OVER-taxation of everyday San Diegans.
Housing affordability and the growing homeless population are two major concerns for majority of San Diegans. I will work with other public officials and community leaders to increase housing supply. Members of our community get evicted from their homes at an alarming rate. It is very difficult to rehabilitate someone who has been homeless for an extended period of time. Preventative measures should be put in place to get to the root of the problem. I believe that nobody should become homeless in San Diego. 75% of homeless people became homeless right here, in San Diego. If we can stop the bleeding and prevent creation of new homeless people we will reduce the suffering of many.
