Gregory P. McGuire (also known as Greg) was the North Carolina 3rd Superior Court Division Special Judge for Complex Business Cases. He assumed office on October 13, 2014. He left office in 2021.

McGuire was appointed to this position by Governor Pat McCrory (R) for a term beginning on October 13, 2014.[1] He was officially confirmed by the North Carolina General Assembly in 2016.[2][3]

The North Carolina Superior Courts are split into five divisions and 48 districts. Superior court judges rotate among the districts within their division every six months.[4] However, superior court judges are elected by voters in their district and must reside in the district in which they are elected.[5]

Education

McGuire earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law.[1]

Career

McGuire is a special judge for the Third Division of the Superior Court in North Carolina. Before joining the court, he was an attorney at the law firm of Ogletree Deakins.[1]
