Greg Rothman (Republican Party) is a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, representing District 34. He assumed office on December 1, 2022. His current term ends on November 30, 2026.

Rothman is also the Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chair.

Rothman (Republican Party) is running for re-election to the Pennsylvania State Senate to represent District 34. He declared candidacy for the Republican primary scheduled on May 19, 2026.[source]

In February 2025, Rothman was elected to serve as chairman of the Pennsylvania Republican Party.[1]

Biography

Greg Rothman served in the U.S. Marine Corps for nearly 10 years, until 2001, and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant. Rothman earned a B.S. in political science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1989 and an M.S. in real estate from The Johns Hopkins University, Carey Business School. His career experience includes working in real estate as the president/CEO of RSR Realtors and as a certified general appraiser of RSR Appraisers & Analysts.[2]

Rothman served as a commissioner of the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission.[2] He also became a trustee at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, joined the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Harrisburg, and co-founded the Harrisburg Young Professionals.[3]

A special election for the position of Pennsylvania House of Representatives District 87 was called for August 4. Candidates were nominated by parties rather than chosen in primaries.[9]

The seat was vacant following Glen Grell's (R) resignation to become the executive director of the Public Schools Employee Retirement System (PSERS).[10][11]

Greg Rothman (R) defeated Bob Charles (D) in the special election.[12][13]
