Gregory J. Stoltenburg was the presiding judge of the Third Judicial Circuit in South Dakota. He was appointed by Governor Dennis Daugaard in October 2012 to replace David Gienapp. Stoltenburg took office after Gienapp's retirement on January 1, 2013.[1][2] He was re-elected in 2014 for a term that expires in 2022.[3] He left office in 2025.[4]

In April 2015, Stoltenburg was appointed presiding judge of the court by Chief Justice David Gilbertson.[5]

Education

Stoltenburg earned his B.S. from South Dakota State University and his J.D. from the University of South Dakota.[6]

Career

Before serving on the Third Circuit, Stoltenburg worked with a law firm in the City of Clear Lake from 1996 until 2012.[2]
