Education
Werner received his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Colorado in 1983 and his J.D. from the same school in 1987.[2]
Career
Werner began his career as an associate to a sole general practitioner. He joined a law firm in 1990 that emphasized in insurance defense. Two years later, he began working as a claim litigation counsel for an insurance carrier in Colorado Springs. He was appointed to the district court in 2006.[2]
