2014
Wojtovich provided the following statement on his Facebook campaign page:
“ | Education is the key to success for our children and the future of our country if our children are to compete in a global economy. I elected to run for the Higley Schools Governing Board to ensure that their “A” ratings in excellence in education continue. The Higley Schools are facing challenging growth and budget issues. We must keep Higley moving forward.
These challenges are not new to me. In Michigan, I served for 12 years on the Board of Education for the second largest district in Michigan with an annual budget of $266 million. That district endured many of issues that Higley is now facing. It is this experience that I bring to the Higley Board to help them through these pivotal times. I have now made Gilbert, Arizona my home. I chose this great community because of the excellent public schools and how that helps to strengthen the families, community, and the future business growth within our area. I want to assure each voter that I do not have any other personal agenda or political aspirations. I just want to share my extensive experience to ensure the best opportunities for every student in the Higley School District. I am currently employed as a Career Advisor with Chandler-Gilbert Community College. As the link for the students between education to the job market, I know the vital role education plays in creating a bright future for our young people and their families. I know the value businesses place on having an educated workforce and the prosperity it can bring to a town when a business choses to locate in their area. A strong educational foundation is the way to keep us moving forward toward a better future. As someone with a bachelor’s degree and a father of four college educated adult children, my wife and I have always taught them to lead by example. If you want to make a difference, take the time to learn about the community and then roll up your sleeves and work with others to do what needs to be done.[4] |
