Campaign themes

2012

Imus' campaign website listed the following issues:[3]

  • 2nd Amendment
Excerpt: "“A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed”. The second amendment secures all other rights. It is the very reason that this country has never experienced a foreign invasion"
  • Foreign Policy and National Security
Excerpt: "The purpose of our foreign policy is to create a more secure, democratic, and prosperous world for the benefit of the American people and the international community. The stronger our economy and our national defense, the better position it puts us in to achieve these goals. "
  • Illegal Immigration
Excerpt: "After co-founding the Minuteman Civil Defense Corp – CA in 2005 and spending more than 2,500 hours on the California-Mexican border, I have experienced first hand the porous southern border and flow of illegal aliens and contraband that openly flows into this country unchecked. I have personally seen many not only that are coming from Mexico, but from other countries in the Middle East as well."
  • Jobs
Excerpt: "There are many obstacles that stand in between the unemployed and the employer, and everyone of them is created by government regulations. The government simply needs to get out of the way and business will return. The government has never been the solution and has only been the problem."
  • The Economy
Excerpt: "If we are ever going to make a positive move in the right direction and improve our economy, there are certain and specific moves that must be made. We must start by absolutely refusing to further raise the debt ceiling so politicians can no longer spend recklessly."
