My wife Kathy and I are the proud parents of a blended family of five adult children. We cherish time that we get to spend with our children in Millsboro, Delaware.

I bring a diverse background in business leadership, elected office, and community service. I grew up in a modest background where my parents instilled in me the value of public education. Thanks to their support and funding from Sea Grant (Chesapeake Bay/NOAA) I earned two degrees from the University of Maryland, including a graduate degree in Quantitative Analysis. This education launched my career and deepened my commitment to giving back to my community.

Prior to recently going into semi-retirement, I was the President of a successful major international business for the America's (North America and Latin America) and managed over 1,000 employees working with a team to promote innovation/investment, while also having fiduciary responsibilities. I spent over 40+ years in the media and marketing business.

I served for eight years on a school board including as VP, and focused on facilities, student wellness, and on the negotiation team for teacher contracts. I also served in kids recreational sports for 15 years and was involved in other community areas such as the United Way.
  • Embed rights into our state constitution:

    1) Defend voting rights currently consisting of Early voting and Permanent Absentee Ballots 2) Protect Reproductive Freedom The current representative of the district opposes both and believes we have settled law. That is not true.

Delaware requires 2/3 Majority to pass constitutional amendments and we are two seats short of making that happen. This seat in House District 4 is likely to be the difference in having these rights embedded. The stakes could not be higher.
  • Advocate for responsible growth and infrastructure investments in Sussex County. We need greater participation in roads, bridges, public transportation and addressing population density. Additionally, we need a medical school and faster investment in affordable and workforce housing. We are 20,000 units in debt on affordable housing. I will work with a democratic majority in the general assembly to pass the bills that make common sense for all Delawareans with a focus on the needs for our district and Sussex County.
  • We need to revamp the current fixed funding formula for public education and utilize a flexible funding program which is used today in over 40 states. The reason is that this type of change will methodologically allow for a different manner to spread money to allow for better outcomes throughout the state, while ensuring that the funding levels for current districts would not be negatively effected. Our education system needs fundamental change. I want to provide my expertise on from my school board background and business background to contribute with other legislators to improve the education system, which should be the great equalizer for children and families throughout the state.
As stated above, education, responsible growth and infrastructure, protecting and defending our rights, environmental issues, medical access, including supporting a medical school in Sussex County, and affordable and workforce housing.
I looked up to my parents who did everything for their children to make sure we received the best education and had the most love possible. I have tried to do that with my children, and hopefully they feel I have been successful.
The ability to be collaborative and work through complex issues.
Constituent Service, Sponsoring Legislation to benefit the state and district that is being served.
Newspaper delivery at the age of 13. Had it for one year. First professional job as a demographer at the Census Bureau which I held for approximately one year before going into the private sector as a demographer.
Growth, Education, Employment, Affordable & Workforce Housing, Medical Access and Medical School
I believe a combination of government service and business experience can be very helpful to serve as a state legislature.
Being collaborative as well as working across the aisle should be something that can be achieved. However, it will not happen all the time, so when it does not, legislators must be respectful of each other.
Embed voting rights and reproductive rights into the state constitution

Incredibly important to be financially transparent and to promote government accountability with tax dollars
Our state would need a constitutional amendment to allow for that. I would suggest that Delaware which requires a 2/3 House and Senate majority to pass a constitutional amendment in two consecutive General Assemblies (i.e 153 & 154) enact a process that required it to go through one assembly with a 2/3 majority in the house and senate and then go to the people of the state to vote top pass/fail on the amendment at the next general election with a simple majority.
