Allen issued the following statement regarding his bid for office:

I was born and raised in Marin & Sonoma Counties. Growing up here I appreciates the beauty of the area and the quality of life experienced here. After my time in the Air Force I returned to Marin, with my wife, to raise our two children. I had the opportunity to give back to the community by volunteering as a Youth Sports Coach for over 13 years, was an involved Parent in the classroom participating in field trips, and donated materials needed by teachers. Our focus was to run our business and raise our children. The past 5 years have been committed to do what is needed in our communities and our state. I have spent numerous hours working at Campaign offices and precinct walking for candidates, also served as co-chair for the Presidential Campaign in Marin which enabled me to speak at numerous engagements and meet people throughout the Bay Area. These experiences have humbled my understanding of what the community really needs and I am committed to fight for this community, which is why I decided to run for office.

I am a native of California and the Bay Area, having worked and lived here and raised our children here has made it clear that Sacramento needs fixing. We need to fix our education system so that all children are equipped to enter the work force, and we need JOBS here. We need to become the state that welcomes business so we can provide a future for the next generation. And I have made it my mission to defend Proposition 13 so that it remains intact, as well as protecting the open space so future generations will be able to enjoy the Best of the Bay Area. [2]
