I am a Colorado dad who understands the need to get back to the basics in education. Our kids need a strong focus on academics to be well prepared for the future. Whether it be in a small town like my grandfather grew up in (who was privileged to watch the building of the Royal Gorge Bridge), or any size city, our kids should start out with every possible advantage. I am committed to invest the time and energy necessary to move the school board in that direction.

My job history uniquely prepares me to meet the needs of our school district. I began my career as a financial analyst at LM and Honeywell, then moved to managing military and space manufacturing. I currently work for a Small Business manufacturing military and space electronics. These experiences equipped me with understanding the unique financial aspects for managing the school district. My variety of school experiences give me a keen understanding of the educational processes. I am armed with knowledge of curriculum and instruction from teaching my own kids from home. The kids then entered public and graduated from public school. I graduated from CLU with a BS in Business and then earned a MS in IT. Finally, I graduated with a MBA from ASU.

As a volunteer with several different Youth Groups including Junior and Senior High School students, I developed an understanding with kids and their needs. From weekly gatherings to out of state mission trips, I’ve seen the psychological and social needs of adolescents.
  • Parents are our children's primary teacher
  • Putting the three strands of education back together: Students, Teachers and Parents
  • Education should be a partnership between parents and teachers
I am passionate about pushing policy to the lowest level possible. I believe an elected school board is the liaison between the parents and teacher. It is at the local level where the best view of educational needs occur. This is where direction for each child's education should be ultimately controlled.

I will work for the parents to protect local control in the district and maintain autonomy from the state legislature.
I look up to Tim Tebow. He stands for what he believes in with all of his actions. He puts in 100% of the effort needed to get the job done. He practices exactly how he plays the game. Giving his all for every second of every play. He is currently working to promote the take down of child trafficking. He also created and supports the annual "Night to Shine" effort.

Character, Integrity and Morality are the most important characteristics of an elected official.
The core responsibility of someone elected to this office is to represent the local people.
I would like to leave the district in better shape than when I took office. I would like to see graduation rates that lead to employment or college at the best level seen in my lifetime. I would like the parents to feel they have been listened through cognizant policies implemented. I would like for each student to know that several people in the community care for them. I would like for each teacher to know they are doing amazing work and truly engaging each student.
I remember coming home from school in 1986 and watching over and over the Space Shuttle Challenger exploding 73 seconds after liftoff. I would have recently turned 13 years old at the time.
My first job was at Jack in the Box where I began as a cashier at 15 years of age. I worked there for 1 1/2 years.
It is to represent the local stakeholders (parents, students, faculty, staff, etc.) while setting the policies to make sure the school has all the resources necessary to serve students effectively.
The constituents are all local residents which include parents, students, teachers, staff, grandparents, etc.
I would like to hold monthly round tables with parents and a separate one with the students. The ideas and information can then be taken back and discussed with the faculty and staff.
I would like to target the parents and the students as this is the group that is the consumer of the school district's service.
I believe if we can make learning fun and students begin to excel, that teachers will begin to really enjoy their days in the classroom. As this cycle perpetuates, the positive environment will gain traction and more teachers will want to come and teach in the district.
State and Federal guidelines get in the way of a quality education. We need to take back control to the local level and get our children the support they need here in WSD3.
In WSD3, there is an awesome program at the Mill. I would like to see more local programs like this that allow students to choose a trade that will make them a valuable member of our society after graduation.
WSD3 is currently in a decent financial situation. Bottom line, spend less than what we take in in funding. Do not take funding with strings attached that do not align with Widefield values.
Safety is at the core. All students need to feel safe in order to relax and be available to learn.
The district has done a remarkable job during the pandemic putting technology into the classroom and making it available for off site learning.
