I’m a Professor at Colorado Christian University. After ten years working as a political scientist in China, a failing, increasingly authoritarian socialist state, I returned to Colorado in 2020 as some in our country hoped to build such a state here. We can’t allow that. In our state and across our nation, taxes are too high, government intervention in our lives is too deep, national debt is too high, dependence on government is too great. We need a return to the principles our nation was founded on, principles which made this nation the greatest in the world, principles such as pro-life, pro-fiscal responsibility, and a strong national defense. Coloradans live in the greatest state in the world’s greatest nation. Yet Democrats are replicating here the errors they are producing in Washington. All of this is more pressing given the challenges we are facing in the economic, energy, information and national security domains from China, Russia and others, for these challengers seek to undermine our elections, our economy, and our security. We must rescue the state and the nation from the failed utopian big-government, debt-inducing, growth-inhibiting, freedom-limiting policies of incumbent Senator Michael Bennett and President Joe Biden.
  • 1. We must turn back high prices, unsustainable economic policies, deep indebtedness, creeping socialism of Democrats.
  • 2. We need more vigilance and a stronger hand in dealing with China.
  • 3. While moving to greener technology, we must avoid utopian, big government schemes that hurt working people and make us indebted to countries like China.

Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan and Jesus Christ. As a general example, as a Christian Jesus is my role model. He exemplified all my values, all I hold most dear. In politics, I would say Lincoln and Reagan best capture my values, Lincoln in terms of his abilities and political sensibilities, and Reagan in terms of his strengths, political savvy and national security policy in the face of Soviet threats.
The book I've written about Reinhold Niebuhr (it is called Niebuhrian International Relations: The Ethics of Foreign Policymaking) reflects my political philosophy quite well. I am more conservative than Niebuhr theologically and politically, but my political philosophy is close to his.

In addition to this, the following books are excellent and have influenced my political philosophy: Ben Shapiro's The Right Side of History; Mark Levin's Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto; Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged; Doris Kearns Goodwin's A Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln, Jon Meacham, Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power; Edmund Morris, Dutch: A Memoir of Ronald Reagan.

1. Protecting and defending the US constitution

2. Advancing policies/laws that improve the lives of Americans
3. Advancing policies/laws that improve the lives of Coloradans (whom I'd represent)
4. Serving, putting the interests of my state and my country above my own

5. Being aware of my state's and my nation's interests, as well as threats to the good of my state and my nation, so that I might advocate for good policy and provide wise counsel for those with decision making power
I'd like to leave my state and my country better than I found it upon entry into office.

I'd like to leave my state and my country safer and more security than I found it upon entry into office.

I'd like to leave my state and my country more prosperous than I found it upon entry into office.
I was a newspaper delivery boy. I held that job for about three years.
The Bible. It is timeless. It contains great wisdom. It challenges. It instructs. It convicts. It enlightens. It shows a/the path to enlightenment and all the best that one can attain in this life, and the next.
Saying no to worthwhile endeavors that are beyond the scope of my current available time resources.
1. We must turn back high prices, unsustainable economic policies, deep indebtedness, creeping socialism of Democrats.

2. We need more vigilance and a stronger hand in dealing with China. China may be our biggest challenge in coming decades in terms of foreign policy.
3. While moving to greener technology, we must avoid utopian, big government schemes that push energy prices up and could make us in effect slaves to China, who holds too much of the world's precious metals reserves.

4. We must work to unify our country and protect and uphold the constitution.
It's a pain in the neck, but it is necessary. It keeps the brakes on policies that could exceed the mandate given Senators by the electorate.
1. Foreign Relations

2. Select Committee on Intelligence
3. Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
4. Armed Services

These are my choices, in that order.
Don't really have one.
