Four of the seven seats on the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District school board were up for general election on November 8, 2016. Place 4 incumbent Guadalupe Rodriguez filed for re-election and lost to challenger Jorge Zambrano. In Place 5, Jesse Zambrano defeated José Santillan for the open seat. Place 6 incumbent Victor Perez won re-election without opposition. In Place 7, incumbent Jesus Vela Jr. defeated newcomer Maria Coplea.[1][2]
