Qualifications

To be eligible to serve in the Legislature of Guam, a candidate must be:[1]

  • A United States citizen.
  • At least 25 years of age.
  • A resident of Guam for at least five years prior to the election.

The candidate must not have been convicted of a felony or of a crime involving moral turpitude.

Swearing in dates

Guam legislators assume office the first Monday in January following the November election.[2]
