About the offices

Governor

Main article: Governor of Guam

The governor of Guam is an elected constitutional officer, the head of the executive branch, and the highest territory office in Guam. The governor is popularly elected every four years by a majority. There is no lifetime limit on the number of times he or she may be elected, but a governor who has been elected to two consecutive terms must be out of office for at least one election cycle before being eligible once again for re-election.[1]

Lieutenant governor

Main article: Lieutenant Governor of Guam

The lieutenant governor of Guam is an elected constitutional officer, the second-ranking officer of the executive branch, and the first officer in line to succeed the governor of Guam. The lieutenant governor is popularly elected every four years by a majority. The lieutenant governor is chosen jointly with the governor. There is no lifetime limit on the number of times he or she may be elected.
