What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
Universal Healthcare Restore Glass Steagal Economic Equality
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Housing, Education, Healthcare, Employment as a human right as well as eliminating caps on social security and disability to afford them a respectable stress free standard of living.
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
I'm my own personal hero.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Compassion is probably the only quality I find lacking in current leadership that I feel is necessary in order to effectively manage resources and provide for a nation. Greed and corruption are responsible for so much death and suffering which is why money must be removed from politics.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
Compassion as previously mentioned and a desire to root out corruption. As a parent I cannot stomach the idea of leaving my kid and other children into the hands of greedy psychopaths who profit from war abroad and artificial disparity domestically when we have the technology to provide free power through renewables and food by means of advanced technologies (hydroponics, aeroponics). Our birthright should be to live and thrive in a sustainable highly educated, artistic, scientific society and yet half of America is on or below the poverty line. It's shameful even criminal how Democrats and Republicans mismanage resources.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
To empower people to live in a sustainable manner, create avenues where people can cultivate their talents and share them.
What legacy would you like to leave?
The only legacy that matters is the preservation of our planet coupled with the continued intellectual, emotional and spiritual growth of humanity.
What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?
The energy crisis
What is your favorite holiday? Why?
Earth Day
What is your favorite book? Why?
Lamb: The gospel according to Biff, Christ's childhood pal. It's funny.
If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?
Black Panther
What is your favorite thing in your home or apartment? Why?
My laptop
What was the last song that got stuck in your head?
Happy Birthday
What is something that has been a struggle in your life?
Having a child that sadly has a learning disability. If I could I would repurpose the majority of our military personnel and funding for medical research. There's so much going on in terms of probable cures for disease at the cutting edge of medicine that could make it to the clinic much sooner and heal people who need help.
What process do you favor for redistricting?
I'm not familiar with the process although my understanding is that it has racist undertones and caters to people already in power by selecting areas where they receive their greatest support. Seems to me some constituents benefit depending on zip codes more so than other members of the electorate.
What qualities does the U.S. House of Representatives possess that makes it unique as an institution?
It has the power of the purse, ability to declare war and ratify or rescind laws. I would draft spending bills for the public purpose and fund programs that would eventually pay for themselves. Additionally, I would stop the erosion of our civil rights and restore them starting with the removal of section 1021 of the NDAA.
Do you believe that it's beneficial for representatives to have previous experience in government or politics?
Previous experience is not necessary but understanding how money is birthed into existence by congressional decree, how to apply funding in a just and compassionate manner and tax it out of existence to control inflation is something most politicians either fail to grasp or fully understand but peddle the lie that taxes at the federal level fund spending. As they don't, there is never a reason to cut spending on social programs to fund other programs (PayGo) or lower the deficit as the deficit isn't money that we borrow from future generations or foreign powers but the total amount of it in circulation. As long as we have resources both material and human to produce what we need, inflation is not a concern. This fundamental understanding of monetary policy is mandatory for anyone interested in a Congressional seat.
What do you perceive to be the United States’ greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?
Climate Change and transitioning from a country that exports war into one that shares technology and promotes peace.
If you are not a current representative, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of?
Science, Space, Technology and ETHICS!
Do you believe that two years is the right term length for representatives?
If there exists political will, common sense and consensus to do good and serve the public purpose, a single term could probably work. Getting money out of politics is the key.
What are your thoughts on term limits?
We need them. Career politicians can easily be corrupted.
If you are not currently a member of your party’s leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives, would you be interested in joining the leadership? If so, in what role?
If you mean as a speaker? I wouldn't turn down the opportunity if the current speaker was inept or corrupt.
Is there a particular representative, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?
No. We all have flaws including myself.
Both sitting representatives and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful?
I met a young lady of African descent, a mother of three who works full time and lives in the ghetto. She worries about her kids getting shot by police or gang activity every day. She feels the system has betrayed people of color and folks of modest means in favor of serving the rich and powerful which is why she doesn't bother voting. She maintains that we can't vote our way out of oppression so she keeps her head down and tries to make it through each day, day by day keeping a roof over her head and food on the table. I think people deserve more than to live in fear and squalor and for a human mind to stay focused on where it's next meal is coming from instead of having the intellect applied to something substantial and meaningful. She's not alone by the way and one day if things don't change and become worse despondence will morph into aggression and direct action. I want to save the republic and make the world a better place for EVERYONE!
