Gwen Rooks
Gwen Rooks is a judge for the Shelby County General Sessions Court, Division 12 in Tennessee. She was appointed to this position by the Shelby County Commission in 2002. She was re-elected in 2006.[1][2][3][4] She was defeated in her bid for re-election in 2014 and stepped down when her term expired on August 31, 2014.[5]
Education
Rooks received her undergraduate degree from Christian Brothers University in 1975. She later graduated from the University of Memphis and the University of Memphis School of Law.[6][4]
Career
Rooks worked as an attorney in the Shelby County Public Defender's Office for 18 years prior to becoming a judge. She also taught business law at LeMoyne Owen College and Southwest Tennessee Community College.[4]

General: She was defeated in the general election on August 7, 2014, after receiving 37.1 percent of the vote. She competed against S. Ronald Lucchesi and Bryan A. Davis.
