H. Thomas Church is a district court judge for the 22A Judicial District, which presides over Alexander and Iredell counties of North Carolina. He was appointed to the court by former Governor Mike Easley in April 2005.[1] Church ran for re-election to the 22A Judicial District in 2014, winning a new term that expired on December 31, 2018.[2][3]

Judicial performance evaluation
In July 2014, the North Carolina Bar Association released the results of a survey in which it asked lawyers to rate the judicial candidates for the trial courts. The candidates were rated from one to five on five different criteria as well as on their overall performance.[4]

Church defeated Brandon J. Crouse in the general election, winning 72.51 percent of the vote.[5]

Church received his undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University in 1970 and his J.D. from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 1973.[1]
