A Hallsville School District Bond Measure was on the April 3, 2012 ballot in the Hallsville school district area which is in Boone County.
This measure was defeated because it did not receive the four-sevenths majority needed.[1]
- YES 512 (51.15%)
- NO 489 (48.85%)

This measure sought to issue a bond in the amount of $4.3 million in order to pay for a new performing arts center, additional classrooms at the schools as well as a new gymnasium for the elementary school. If approved, an additional levy of $.32 would have been implemented in order to pay for the bond. School officials had hosted informational meetings in order to inform residents about the bond and the needs of the district.[3]
Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
| Shall the Board of Education of the Hallsville R-IV School District of Boone County, Missouri, borrow money in the amount of Four Million Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($4,300,000), for the purpose of providing funds for the site development, construction, equipping, furnishing of a fine arts auditorium, science classrooms and multipurpose addition at high school, and a classroom wing and a new gymnasium at the primary school; to demolish the original high school building; to the extent funds are available, complete remodeling and repair improvements to the existing facilities of the District; and issue bonds for the payment thereof resulting in an estimated increase to the debt service property tax levy of $0.32 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the School District is estimated to increase from $1.06, currently, to $1.38 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.[4][5] |
