My name is Hamilton Rodrigues. I am running for US Congress to represent the Massachusetts 8th Congressional District. I was born and raised in Roxbury, MA, but currently lives in Canton MA. Parents Immigrated from Angola, but they are from the Cabo Verde Islands: https://www.britannica.com/place/Cabo-Verde. Also, I am a product of the Boston Public School System, where I attended the Emerson Elementary School in Roxbury, MA, Gavin Middle School in South Boston, and Madison Park technical Vocational high School in Roxbury MA. Furthermore, I graduated with Bachelors of Arts from the UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS AT Amherst, with a major Communication, from 1997-2000, a Master of Science in Public Administration from UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS AT Boston 2011-2013. Moreover, I have over 20 Years of Real Estate experience as an investor/entrepreneur, and over 17 years as a real estate broker. Not limited to, I was appointed as a Board Member of the department of Economic Development for the town of Canton MA, 2014-present.
  • I am a supporter of rights for parents to have educational choice for their children and be able to pick and choose or have a say in the matter of what and how curriculum will be taught in schools.
  • Assist in resolving inflation and high prices of cost of goods due to the supply chain dilema, which is a result of lack of labor man power supply. Basically, I want to give people an incentive to work.
  • Help protectors of this great nation the proper training and resources to protect its people. This includes extra funding for police, fire fighters, veterans/military, etc. to spend on hiring, professional development, and other public safety necessities.
The areas of Public Policy that I am personally passionate about are inflation, immigration, trade/economy, public safety, educational choice, pro life, housing & welfare reform, and Mental Health.
This republic was created by the founding fathers with a road map called the US constitution and many leaders have failed to read it and/or bother to follow it. It appears that there is a push to do away with it and our rights as Americans on general. The US Constitution was clearly made for all Americans to live free in the pursuit of happiness. This is the last frontier for the free world and there is no where else to go from here. All Americans have to unite to preserve the US constitution and respect this republic for which it stands.

Campaign website

Rodrigues' campaign website stated the following:

My 5 major policy concerns are:
-Inflation

“The top 9 most terrifying words in the English Language are: I'm from the government, and I'm here to help.” - Ronald Reagan. The key to battling inflation is to decrease taxes and relieve government burden. Supporting local business supports our local communities. I will always put our local communities, and not Washington Bureaucrats, first!

-Police/Protectors

Our hardworking men and women in police and public service put on their badge every day knowing the risks that they may face to keep us safe. We need to do everything we can to ensure these heroes know we have their back!

-Immigration

I support immigration. There is a right way, and a wrong way, to do it. I support the right way. It's simply that simple!

-Gun Rights

"Shall not be infringed" is straifhtforward. I will always support your right to bear arms. The Second Amendment is not outdated; just look at what is happening in Ukraine. To quote Japanese Navy Admiral during WW2 Isoroku Yamamoto, 'You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.'. I will never support an "assault weapon" ban; or any legislation that restricts your rights!

-Education

We need to put our children, our future, first. We need to make sure our children are receiving education; not indoctrination! We also need to make sure our children are receiving the adequate resources necessary to receive the best education possible. Why are we sending money to countries that hate us while so many of our schools are still using textbooks from the 1980s (or sometimes earlier)!

For additional details about my policy concerns please feel free to reach out to the campaign team.[1]
