This measure sought to renew the current board's levy which was set at a rate of $.13 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for mental health and abuse services offered in the county.[2]

The question on the ballot:
| A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Hancock County, for the purpose of PROVIDING MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES by the Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services at a rate not exceeding 1.3 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to thirteen cents ($0.13) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a period of five (5) years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3] |
