An effort to recall Hannah Rupprecht from her position on the Red Cloud Community Schools school board in Nebraska did not go to a vote after recall organizers did not collect sufficient signatures to trigger a recall election.[1]

Recall supporters

Red Cloud resident Jason VanNostrand began the effort to recall Rupprecht. Regarding the reason for the recall effort, VanNostrand said that "with the separation that’s going on between the school board and the superintendent down here, that’s going to cost our taxpayers a lot of money in the school district. We’re going to lose quite a bit of money there. And I don’t think that’s even being thought of right now."[1]

Recall opponents

In a Facebook post about the recall effort after it had ended, Rupprecht wrote in part, "The attacks weren’t about policy or process and NEVER were backed with evidence; they were purely personal and political."[2]
