Harlington Wood
Harlington Wood, Jr. (1920-2008) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. Wood passed away on December 29, 2008.

Judicial nominations and appointments
Seventh Circuit
Wood was nominated to the Seventh Circuit by President Gerald Ford on April 14, 1976, to a seat vacated by John Paul Stevens; he was confirmed by the Senate on May 6, 1976, and received commission the next day. He assumed senior status on January 15, 1992. He served the Seventh Circuit until his death on December 29, 2008.
Southern District of Illinois
Wood was nominated to the Southern District of Illinois by President Richard Nixon on May 11, 1973, to a seat vacated by Omer Poos; he was confirmed by the Senate on July 13, 1973, and received commission on July 18, 1973. He served the Southern District of Illinois until he was elevated to the Seventh Circuit on May 28, 1976.[1]
