Campaign themes
2014
Vangilder's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]
Jobs
- Excerpt: "There is much to be done in preparing for the economic recovery that will come. I will be that leader who will fight to restore state funding to counties for roads and infrastructure improvements."
Education
- Excerpt: "I am in this race for the sake of our kids. I am fighting for your Children and my Grandchildren! Our children and their teachers deserve better than they are getting. They deserve a leader who will fight for their future. Our kids and grandkids should to be able to have careers in LD-8 and not have to move away just to get a decent job. I will be that leader who will fight for more dollars going directly to teachers and kids in the classroom and that no additional monies go into administrative overhead."
