Education: Harold will work to create an education system through which parents can work with their children to positively affect their education. He believes we must attract the best teachers to New Mexico; therefore, he will continue to advocate for increased education funding. Harold willl ensure that parents, teachers and administrators work in conjunction with business leaders in order to develop curricula that better prepare our students for today’s competitive economy, as opposed to overburdening both students and teachers with standardized tests. Economy: Harold will work to streamline state and county laws to encourage local business start-ups. He will strive to keep current businesses solvent and in New Mexico. Working Families: Harold is ready to stand up to corporate America and give the middle class and working families fair representation. He will work to expand health care coverage to all. He will keep jobs in New Mexico by standing up for small businesses against corporate box stores. Infrastructure: Infrastructure is the foundation of our economy and is central to our day-to-day lives. Harold’s goal is to repair roadways in the district and to make them easily accessible for recreational and commercial use. He also plans to ensure safe drinking-water supplies through the protection of the region’s surface and ground water. Harold will work to ensure stable, reliable internet service to attract businesses to New Mexico. Environment: New Mexico is a beautiful place and Harold plans to keep it that way. He will work to expand the development of renewable-energy sources. He also will work to establish measures to protect the community from flooding and forest fires. Finally, he will protect drinking-water sources in order to make sure we continue to have adequate and safe water supplies in the community.[2] |
