Harold Wimberly, Jr. was a circuit court judge for the Sixth Circuit Court, which presides over Knox County in Tennessee. He was appointed to the court by former Governor Ned McWherter and began serving as a judge on the court in 1987.[1] He was re-elected without opposition in 2006 but was defeated in his bid for re-election on August 7, 2014. He left office on August 31, 2014.[2][3][4]

Primary: He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on May 6, 2014.
General: He was defeated in the general election on August 7, 2014, after receiving 40.9 percent of the vote. He competed against William T. Ailor. [3][4]

Education

Wimberly received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee and his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law.[1]

Career

Prior to joining the Sixth Circuit Court in 1987, Wimberly served as a judge for the Knox County General Sessions Court from 1974 to 1978.[5][6]
