Harry Gill is a judge of the 18th Circuit Court in Bay County, Michigan. He was elected to this position on November 2, 2010, and took office the following January. He replaced retired Judge William Caprathe.[1] He ran unopposed for re-election in 2016.[2]

Education

After earning his associate degree from Delta College, Gill attended Western Michigan University for his bachelor's degree. He then earned his J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1976.[3]

Career

Gill practiced law in Bay City, Mich., for 33 years prior to his judicial election. He first worked for the law firm of Smith and Brooker from 1976 to 1988 and then joined the firm of Patterson, Gruber, Kennedy, Gill & Milster. At the time of his election to the circuit court in 2010, he was a partner of Kennedy, Gill & Ball.[3][1]

Michigan held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election occurred on August 2, 2016. The candidate filing deadline for incumbents was March 21, and the deadline for non-incumbents was April 19.[4] Incumbent Harry Gill ran unopposed in the 18th Circuit general election.[2]
