Harry Lemley
Harry Jacob Lemley (1883-1965) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Western District of Arkansas and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
He was nominated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on April 27, 1939 to a seat created by 52 Stat. 584. He was confirmed by the Senate on May 8th, and received commission on May 11th. From 1948 to 1958, he was the chief judge of the Western District Court. On September 5, 1958, he assumed senior status and continued to serve in this capacity until his death on March 5, 1965. Lemley was succeeded in this position by Jesse Henley.
