Las Vegas, Nevada: On July 1, 2013, Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) will hold a rally for immigration reform. In addition to local Nevada politicians, Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D) will also make an appearance.[1]
Reid has recently made headlines for referring to members of the Republican members in opposition of the bill as "crazies" during a recent press conference. Although not a member of the Gang of Eight, a bipartisan group of U.S. Senators working on the comprehensive immigration reform bill, Reid has been a staunch supporter of the bill and had stated that he would like the Senate to vote on the bill by the Fourth of July recess.[2][3]
On June 27, it was announced that a vote would be held with Vice President Joe Biden presiding over the Senate for the voting process that afternoon.[4]
