Iran hostage crisis. I was about 5 years old.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

Mowing lawns for the neighborhood when I was 13. Had the job all summer.

What happened on your most awkward date?

Never dated.

What is your favorite holiday? Why?

Eid, the festival at the end of Ramadan.

What is your favorite book? Why?

I don't have a single favorite. Growing up, it would have included The Phantom Tollbooth.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?

Superman. He crosses borders to serve.

What is your favorite thing in your home or apartment? Why?

Judging from the time I spend on it - my phone.

What was the last song that got stuck in your head?

Don't recall.

Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics?

No. We should be expanding, not limiting, the number of eligible people who can run for office.

What do you perceive to be your state’s greatest challenges over the next decade?

Maintaining equity, overdevelopment, traffic.

What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and the state legislature?

Symbiotic.

Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer.

Yes, politics requires the building of relationships.
