Hattie Harrison (February 11, 1928-January 28, 2013) is a former Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 45 since August 2, 1973 until she passed away on January 28, 2013.[1]

Harrison is Chair of the Historic East Baltimore Community Action Coalition, and a member of Women Legislators of Maryland.[2]

Biographical information

Harrison turned 83 in 2011. She is the oldest member of the legislature, and the longest serving member of the House of Delegates. She is the first African-American woman to chair a major committee (Rules & Executive Nominations), and she's run it for 32 years.[3]

On November 7, 2006, Hattie Harrison ran for District 45 of the Maryland House of Delegates, winning the second of three seats, losing to Cheryl Glenn but beating Talmadge Branch and Ronald Owens-Bey.[5]
