The Hawaii Changing the Voting Age, Amendment 5, also known as Amendment 5, was on the ballot in Hawaii on November 8, 1988, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment asked whether the age of voting be changed to include those who turn 18 at any point during an election year, extending the accepted age terminus to December 31.[1]
