Hawaii Federal Judicial Selection Commission
The Hawaii Federal Judicial Selection Commission oversees the recommendation of federal judges in Hawaii. The Commission solicits applicants for open federal seats, then reviews and vets them. They then give recommendations for appointment to the President of the United States, who will nominate one to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
The Commission was established in 2006 at the urging of United States Senators Daniel K. Inouye and Daniel K. Akaka.[1]
