The Hawaii Requirements for Reappointment Boundaries, Amendment 5, also known as Amendment 5, was on the ballot in Hawaii on November 6, 1990, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment asked whether the requirements for reappointment boundaries be changed from "basic island units" to "basic island units, whenever possible and to the maximum extent possible."[1]
