Hawaii Supreme Court Associate Justice and Circuit Court Judge Nominees Announced

Hawaii: The Hawaii Judicial Selection Commission released nominee lists for an impending vacancy in the Hawaii Supreme Court and a vacancy in the Second Circuit Court on May 11.[1]
The nominees for the Supreme Court Associate Justice seat which will open upon the mandatory retirement of James E. Duffy, Jr. in July are:
- Derrick H.M. Chan (First Circuit Court Judge)
- Daniel Foley (Intermediate Court of Appeals Associate Judge)
- David M. Forman (University of Hawaii at Manoa - William S. Richardson School of Law Faculty[2])
- Craig Nakamura (Intermediate Court of Appeals Chief Judge)
- Richard W. Pollack (First Circuit Court Judge)
The nominees for the Circuit Court seat which opened upon the mandatory retirement of Shackley F. Raffetto in April are:
- Peter T. Cahill
- Michelle L. Drewyer
- Kelsey Kawano
- Lloyd A. Poelman
- Douglas J. Sameshima
The two lists will be sent to Gov. Neil Abercrombie, who will have 30 days to make appointments in accordance with Article VI, Section 3 of the Hawaii Constitution.
