A proud husband, father, pastor and 6th-generation Iowan; Hansen is the son of a 4th grade teacher and a county worker. He and his wife Sarah live in Audubon where they are raising their four year old daughter, Vesper.

He ministers as senior pastor of the Audubon Church of Christ. Like many parents, he has a second job. In this capacity, he counsels troubled young men at the Manning House in Manning. When not working, Hansen serves his community as vice president of the Audubon Community Schools Board of Education.

Running on a platform of "pro-life, pro-gun, pro-Iowa," Heath hopes to bring rural Iowa values to Des Moines through hard work, dedication and a listening ear.
I care deeply about life, and believe in life from conception to natural death. I believe strongly that the 2nd amendment guards the rest and that for us to remain a free republic we must have an armed citizenry. I am an advocate for rural Iowa. I think that the rural Iowa culture is a positive one that can teach the rest of the world a thing or two about civility and respect along with giving our kids chances to develop into the leaders of tomorrow.

I am passionate about seeing rural communities thrive, local businesses take off, and seeing virtuous citizens raised.
