Voters decided against recalling Alderman Heath Spears in a special recall election scheduled on March 26, 2022, in Franklinton, Louisiana.[1] Spears survived the recall by a margin of 56.6% to 43.4%.[2]

Recall supporters
Recall organizers alleged that Spears did not live within town limits and so was not qualified for office.[1]
Recall opponents
Spears said that he did live in Franklinton, but that he had temporarily moved outside the city because his house had been damaged by a fire. Spears added that he had since moved back to town.[1]

Organizers were required to collect 722 signatures to force a special recall election. They submitted 921 signatures, 737 of which were valid signatures from town voters.[3] The recall was scheduled for March 26, 2022.[1]
