Like so many people in Waltham, I know what it’s like to get knocked down. During the 2008 recession, my family almost lost our business and home. We were lucky to make it, we were able to purchase our home in Lakeview. Too many Waltham families, especially during COVID-19, are still struggling. I’m not a career politician. I’m a Mom, an educator, and a union member who is not afraid to lead the fight for housing affordability, climate resilience, education, and an economic recovery that works for everyone.
  • We must bring accountability and transparency to The State House.
  • We must fully fund our schools and strengthen public education in Massachusetts.
  • We must do everything we can to protect the rights of birthing persons to fully bodily autonomy in Massachusetts.
Transparency on Beacon Hill: Tom Stanley has voted against common-sense transparency, like publishing committee votes on his state website, he voted to eliminate term limits for the Speaker of the House, and he voted against allowing legislators 24 hours to read bills before voting on them. I’ll publish my committee votes on my website so that you always know where I stand.

Public Safety and Community Trust: We need true Democratic representation. Not a politician that sides with Republicans on common sense policing reforms. I will be a strong voice for keeping our community safe while being an active partner in building community trust with law enforcement.

Climate Crisis: Natural Gas is not a solution to our energy crisis. Here in Massachusetts we need to take steps to make sure that our Representatives understand this and are constantly prioritizing energy efficiency wherever possible. Does finding these solutions and implementing them take money – yes – but probably not as much as trying to find “Planet B”! The unwillingness of many in the State House to set big goals for climate change initiatives is not only frustrating, but dangerous. I am fully committed to passing meaningful climate crisis legislation. I don’t think that 2050 is an adequate “timeline”, for us to put on legislation that is meant to save our planet. I think the 2030 deadline that has been proposed by many progressive candidates is the deadline that we should be working towards.
