Heather Mueller was the Minnesota Commissioner of Education. She assumed office on April 1, 2021. She left office on January 7, 2023.

Gov. Tim Walz (D) appointed Mueller on March 9, 2021, effective April 1, to succeed Mary Cathryn Ricker.[1]

Biography

Heather Mueller earned a bachelor's and master's degree from Minnesota State University at Mankato and a doctorate from St. Mary's University.[1] Mueller's career experience includes working as the deputy commissioner of education and assistant commissioner of education with the Minnesota Department of Education; and the director of teaching and learning, a professional development coordinator, and a high school teacher with Mankato Area Public Schools.[2]
