I am a retired Army Warrant Officer whose exodus from the military occurred the same year Roe V Wade was overturned. As a woman and mom of four kids, I could not sit when I could stand.
  • I support reproductive rights and bodily autonomy. Reproductive rights and bodily autonomy are crucial for ensuring individuals have control over their own bodies and lives. They empower people to make informed decisions about their reproductive health, including access to contraception, safe abortion, and comprehensive healthcare. Upholding these rights promotes gender equality, supports public health, and respects individuals' dignity and autonomy.
  • Quality education and affordable childcare are essential investments for a strong economy. They enable parents to participate fully in the workforce, boosting productivity and economic growth. Moreover, they foster a skilled workforce, driving innovation and competitiveness, while also reducing income inequality by providing all children with equal opportunities for success.
  • Advocating for climate-friendly policies is crucial for mitigating the impacts of climate change and preserving the planet for future generations. These policies not only reduce carbon emissions and pollution but also stimulate innovation and job creation in sustainable industries. By prioritizing environmental protection and renewable energy initiatives, we can safeguard ecosystems, public health, and global stability.
Please refer to my 3 key messages, but I would also include access to proper healthcare is vital for enhancing public health, promoting health equity, and supporting economic stability by ensuring comprehensive, timely medical services and preventive care for all.
I believe that integrity, competence, empathy, courage, and accountability are the most crucial qualities for an elected official. These traits ensure that leaders act with honesty, possess the necessary knowledge and skills, understand and share the feelings of their constituents, make brave decisions in the face of adversity, and take responsibility for their actions.
I aspire to leave a legacy that underscores the importance of active participation over passive observation in life. I want to inspire not just my children, but also my community and peers, to understand that making a difference requires us to step forward. It's about showing that true change and progress come from engagement, courage, and the willingness to have difficult conversations and tackle complex challenges.
