Hector Leal is the Place 5 incumbent on the San Benito school board in Texas. He won re-election against challengers Joyce Aguirre, Rene Salinas and Roberto Benavides on May 10, 2014. Leal has been serving on the board since 1993.

Leal graduated from San Benito High School in 1975 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in 1979 from the University of East Texas State. He is a self-employed photographer and the owner of Valley Photo. He and his wife, Elydia, have a daughter, a son and two grandsons.[1]
