Heidi Brieger was the chief justice for the Massachusetts Superior Court from 2012 to 2023.[1] She was nominated to the court by former Governor Deval Patrick on June 5, 2012, and was confirmed by the Governor's Council, on a vote of 6-1, on June 23, 2012.[2]She may serve on the court until she turns the mandatory retirement age of 70.[3] In June 2021, Brieger was appointed to the office of chief justice of the court for a five-year term.[4] [5]

Education

Brieger received her undergraduate degree from Smith College in 1979 and a master's degree from Claremont College in 1982. She earned her J.D. from the Boston College Law School, graduating cum laude, in 1986.[2]
