Hey neighbors, I’m Heidi Maxwell. You might know me from around town, running my small business, or from one of our local community events. I’m putting my hat in the ring for Morgan County Ohio Commissioner, and I’d love to have your support.
Living here, where everyone knows each other, has always been special to me. My roots go deep into this soil – I come from a family of farmers and have always treasured our Appalachian Ohio way of life. Whether I'm out enjoying our beautiful outdoors with my husband and kids, or chatting with you at the grocery store, I'm reminded daily of what makes our community home.
Volunteering and helping out is just part of who we are, isn't it? That’s why you’ll often find me dedicating time to make our area even better. I believe in the power of neighbors helping neighbors, and that's the spirit I want to bring to the role of Commissioner.
We’re not just residents here; we're friends, we're family. And as your Commissioner, I want to ensure that our voices are heard, our traditions are honored, and our community thrives. Let's work together to keep Morgan County the place we all love and are proud to be a part of.

I am deeply passionate about several key areas of public policy that directly impact the well-being and prosperity of our community in Morgan County.
Firstly, I am committed to enhancing 911 availability and response time. In emergencies, every second counts, and it's crucial that our residents have access to prompt and effective emergency services. I am dedicated to ensuring that our 911 system is well-equipped, staffed by well-trained professionals, and capable of responding swiftly to all emergencies. This commitment to public safety is a cornerstone of my policy priorities.
Secondly, the improvement and maintenance of our infrastructure is a vital area of focus for me. Our roads, bridges, and public utilities are the backbone of our daily lives. By investing in and regularly maintaining this essential infrastructure, we not only ensure the safety and efficiency of our community but also lay the groundwork for future growth and prosperity. I advocate for smart, sustainable infrastructure projects that meet our current needs while planning for tomorrow.
Lastly, I am passionate about economic development and supporting our local businesses. As a small business owner myself, I understand the challenges faced by local enterprises. My aim is to foster an environment where businesses can thrive, creating job opportunities and stimulating our local economy. This involves not just supporting existing businesses but also attracting new investments.

I feel you need to be able to adapt in ever changing circumstances. Have a genuine commitment to public service and the wellbeing of the community. Problem solving skills and the ability to make well informed decisions are critical. Being able to work well with others. You should be able to collaborate across party lines and different interest groups for the greater good. Transparency is crucial in building trust with the constituents and fellow officials.
Budget approval, oversee county finances, help develop policies, listen to concerns of constituents and advocate on their behalf, community development, oversee public services, emergency management, advocate for the county's interest.
I have strong leadership skills. I am a team player and good communicator. I can manage my time wisely and am very fimiliar with financials. I am a great advocator.
I would love to be able to continue to help Morgan County be a better place than when started.
Starting our business 18 years ago was a big obstacle. We had 3 small children and no money. We started from the ground up. I worked a full time job and then came to our store after and worked it with my husband and also kept all the books because we could not afford to hire anyone.
