Recently, I led efforts to increase funding for shelter, behavioral health, aging and disability, and immigrant affairs services. I am also proud to have helped balance the 2026 budget by reallocating funds from the County Sheriff’s office to essential human services.
Since my election to the County Board in 2012, I have led initiatives including:
- Creating the Affordable Housing Development Fund and increasing transparency and opportunities for public comment
- Launching the Fair Chance Housing Fund and Safe Farmworker Housing Initiative
- Adding lactation rooms and free menstrual products to county buildings
- Investing in affordable home ownership and tiny house villages
