Helen Shores Lee is a former civil division judge of Circuit 10 in Jefferson County, Alabama.[1] She joined the court in January of 2003.[2]

Education

Judge Lee was born in Birmingham. She received her B.A. in psychology from Fisk University in 1962. She then attended Pepperdine University, where she received an M.A. degree in Clinical Psychology. From 1971 to 1987, she worked as a clinical psychologist. She earned her J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1987.[2] She is married to Robert M. Lee, Sr. and they have three children and four grandchildren.[3]

Career

Judge Lee was admitted to the practice of law on May 2, 1988.[4] She then joined the law practice of her father, Arthur D. Shores. She worked as a private practice lawyer until she became a circuit judge in 2003.[3]

2010 election

Lee defeated Chuck Hunter in the general election, earning 54.23 percent of the votes compared to Hunter's 45.77%.[5]
