Henry Harold Kennedy, Jr. is a federal judge on senior status with the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. He joined the court in 1997 after being nominated by President Bill Clinton (D). He assumed senior status on November 18, 2011.[1]

Early life and education

Henry Kennedy was born in Columbia, South Carolina in 1948. He earned a bachelor's degree from Princeton University in 1970. He earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1973.[1]

United States District Court for the District of Columbia

Kennedy was nominated to the United States District Court for the District of Columbia by President Bill Clinton (D) on May 15, 1997, to a seat vacated by Joyce Green when Green assumed senior status. Kennedy was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on September 4, 1997, on a Senate vote and received commission on September 18, 1997.[2] Kennedy assumed senior status on November 18, 2011.[1]

District of Columbia, Magistrate

From 1976 to 1979, Kennedy served as a Federal Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.[1]
