In an interview with KELO radio, Cloud said that he opposed the Dakota Access Pipeline, which crosses several rivers in South Dakota and has been the source of protests in 2016. Protesters cite environmental concerns over the pipeline, particularly over access to clean water.
The Public Utilities Commission is responsible for approving or disapproving of projects like the Dakota Access Pipeline.
