Henry White
Henry White was a 2016 Democratic special election candidate for District 5 of the Alabama House of Representatives.[1]
White was a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 5 of the Alabama House of Representatives. He previously served in the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 5 from 2006 to 2010.
Prior to his election to the House, White served on the Athens, Alabama City Council.[2]

Elections
2016
A special election for the position of Alabama House of Representatives District 5 was called for February 16. A primary election took place on September 29, and a primary runoff election took place on December 8. The filing deadline for major party candidates wishing to run in this election was July 27. The filing deadline for third-party candidates was September 29.[3]
The seat was vacant following Dan Williams' (R) death on July 1.[4]
Henry White was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Ronnie Coffman, Danny Crawford, Mike Criscillis, Jerry Hill and Chris Seibert faced off in the Republican primary.[1] Since no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two vote-getters, Seibert and Crawford, met in a Republican runoff election, which Crawford won.[5] White was defeated by Crawford in the special election.[6][7]
2014
Elections for the Alabama House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014; a runoff election took place where necessary on July 15, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 7, 2014. Henry White was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Dan Williams defeated Bobby Jackson in the Republican primary. Williams defeated White in the general election.[8][9][10][11]

2010
White lost his re-election bid to the 5th District seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. He was defeated by Republican Dan Williams in the November 2 general election.[12]

On November 7, 2006, White was elected to the 5th District Seat in the Alabama House of Representatives, defeating opponent Ronnie G. Coffman (R).[13]
White raised $122,366 for his campaign, while Coffman raised $80,770.[14]
