Four of the seven seats on the Wichita Falls Independent School District board of trustees were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. Place 4 incumbent Dale Harvey won re-election against Dustin Nimz and Shane Smith. Place 5 incumbent Tom Bursey defeated challenger Herbert Whinery. Place 2 newcomer Mike Rucker and Place 3 candidate Adam Warren Groves won election without opposition.[1]
