Herman Quirmbach
Herman Quirmbach (Democratic Party) is a member of the Iowa State Senate, representing District 25. He assumed office on January 3, 2023. His current term ends on January 2, 2027.

Biography
Herman Quirmbach was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. Quirmbach graduated from Central High School in Brookfield, Wisconsin. He earned a B.A. in government from Harvard University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University. Quirmbach's career experience includes working as an associate professor of economics with Iowa State University. He has served on the board of directors of the Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau, on the Story County REAP Committee, and as the president and treasurer of the Ames Patriotic Council.[1]

Elections for the Iowa State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Incumbent Herman C. Quirmbach defeated Cynthia Oppedal Paschen in the Democratic primary, while Jeremy Davis was unopposed in the Republican primary. Quirmbach faced Davis in the general election.[2][3] Incumbent Quirmbach defeated challenger Davis in the general election.[4]

On November 7, 2006, Quirmbach was re-elected to the 23rd District Seat in the Iowa State Senate, defeating Linda Livingston (R).[7] Quirmbach raised $129,558 for his campaign, while Livingston raised $152,722.[8]
