Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee, Washington State Senate
The Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee is a standing committee of the Washington State Senate.
Per Section V of the Senate Rules, committees of the Washington State Senate are appointed by the President of the Senate and confirmed by the senate.[1] Committees are responsible for considering measures referred to them in the interest of the state.[2] The deliberations of committees considering a vote on any bill, resolution, or memorial must be open to the public.[3]

Function
The Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee considers topics including, but not limited to:
“ | issues relating to the state's public and independent baccalaureate colleges and universities, public community and technical colleges, and private career schools. Issues include governance and coordination of higher education, financial aid, tuition, and workforce training.[4][5] | ” |
